What is the Di Morrow Method?

The Di Morrow Method is a method of body contouring developed by Di Morrow over her extensive career in massage therapies, anatomy and body therapy for sports injuries and physiology. It is a non invasive therapy that will give you instant results. The Di Morrow Method can be applied to all parts of the body, resulting in firmer flesh, smoother contours and visible uplifting.

Introduction

It was during my usual work with sports injuries, lymphatic drainage and Swedish massage therapy that I began to experiment with cellulite reduction. The first step was to make sure there was no oedema in the area to be treated. Oedema is the swelling caused by the accumulation of lymph - that straw coloured liquid that fills a blister - in the ankles and lower limbs, particularly in women who are overweight and pregnant. However, oedema can also be found in most other parts of the body. Any oedema present in the tissue was first reduced through massage so that the cellulite, the layer of fatty tissue, was clearly defined. Then, by continually probing these fatty masses, I was able to get a feel for the cellulite.

Although I had successfully eliminated excess lymph from around the tissue the cellulite still felt as though fluid was present. With the development of even finer sensitivity I was able to state with confidence that cellulite, unlike normal fat had fluid tightly held within the tissue which is fibrous tissue.

I became aware that the fibrous tissue that I could feel was not in the inter-cellular spaces, as it is in people suffering with oedema. No matter how strongly I applied drainage techniques the fluid in the cellulite remain encapsulated. I concluded that, unlike normal retained fluid that gathers in the spaces between the cells, the fluid in cellulite is actually inside the cells. Therefore, cellulite cells must be fat cells that have attracted water through the cell wall and now contain both fat and water. In other words, they have become hydrated.

This was the first breakthrough in solving the puzzle of cellulite elimination. I was now able to define a cellulite cell as a fat cell that had been pressurised and distended by the absorption of fluid. During the three years following this breakthrough I experimented with many techniques to eliminate this fluid through the cell walls. Finally success came, and I was able to confidently claim that I had found a unique and highly effective natural method that would remove cellulite.

Although this breakthrough was exciting I was still anxious about the final results. Success removal of cellulite did not necessarily guarantee its complete elimination. I expected my clients would enjoy several months free of cellulite before its return. However, to my absolute delight and, I must say, surprise, the cellulite did not reappear on any of my clients.

The next test for my method came when a client gained weight and then lost it. If, as most of the medical profession claim, cellulite is no more than just fat it could be expected to return along with the new fat deposits. Yet this did not happen - there was no evidence of any cellulite on any of the treated tissue.

Over a further three year trial period I treated many more women and all of them, including those whose whose weight had fluctuated, reported that there was no reoccurrence of cellulite to the treated tissue.

Hormones

Further research led to an understanding of cellulite, and the role of female hormones in the formation of cellulite. This allowed me to explain the reason for the formation of cellulite and the mechanism by which cellulite forms. I was then able to predict when it was most likely to form and when this was less likely. From this came the ability to predict how long my therapies would last.

An understanding of the control these hormones exert over changing electrolyte levels and fluid balance led me to consider the role of electrolytes in the process of forming cellulite through the hydration of fat cells.

The timing of the first cellulite deposits in young women, and then the timing of the subsequent deposits, coincided with periods of elevated female hormone levels that are also periods of change to the body, such as puberty and pregnancy. The fact that we have evolved with such a strong need to put such an unattractive surface on such a beautiful form as the female body means that there must be some very good reasons for it. Looking for answers, I began to fear that hydrated fat cells (HFCs) are not just an annoying cosmetic defect, but are both a symptom of an imbalance and, in themselves, a serious long-term health problem for women.

I concluded from this that, since my original cellulite research proved successful in providing a non-invasive method of permanent relief on legs, hips and buttocks, the same elimination techniques would be equally as successful in treating other puffy and sagging areas of the body.

Faces and necks

The first step in treating other body areas was the fatty tissue on the face, under the chin and on the neck. By experimenting with and modifying my proven technique of cellulite elimination I was able to develop an effective massage procedure that reduced puffiness of the face and tightened the skin around the neck area, resulting in an effective and safe natural face lift.

Breasts

Following my success with faces and necks, I thought "Why stop here?", and began suing a similar procedure on the same sort of tissue in breasts. The rejuvenation of breasts without the need for cosmetic surgery. The skin becomes taut and the breast itself becomes firmer and higher with a younger contour.

Safe and Permanent

With my natural cellulite, and face and breast therapy technique there is no need to diet, use creams, no need to undergo surgery, exercise violently or alter your lifestyle in any way. No machines or other mechanical or chemical devices are required. All of the therapy is performed using only the hands. However, there are compelling advantages in maintaining a sensible exercise and diet regime [dealt with in chapters 8 and 9 of "Natural Cellulite Control"].

These therapies offer all the advantages and none of the disadvantages of other cellulite reduction methods. They:

  • Are safe
  • Are relatively painless
  • Are comparatively quick
  • Produce a signficant feeling of wellbeing
  • Require no great change in lifestyle
  • Promote healthy lifestyle choices
  • Can be done in a concentrated burst or more slowly
  • Are under your control
